The wines of Arico are produced in the region Abona. The vineyards lie up to 1750 meters high and belong to the highest in Europe. Fundamental factors of the quality of this wines are the sun and the volcanic earth, which mark the region. Thus it receives a rich flavour and uncomparable quality.

It was founded in 1991. Since that time numerous different sorts of cheese are made there exclusively by traditional Canarian prescriptions:
- "Queso fresco” (Fresh Cheese)
- "Semicurado" (deposited)
- "Curado" (for a long time deposited)
- "Gofio" (with additive of roasted corn flour)
- "Pimentón" (with paprika)
-"Ahumado" (smoked).

As each goat cheese made in the Canary Islands the cheese of Arico is part of the local catering trade and therefore also part of the Canarian culture.

Down at the coast they offer fresh fish out of the sea, the typical Canarian “Mojosauce” and “gofio” (puree from roasted corn flour). In the higher regions you get:
“Carne de cabra” (goat meat)
- “Potaje” (vegetable soup)
- “Conejo” (rabbit)
- “Papas arrugadas” (small potatoes, which should be eaten with the skin)
- “Mojo”
- “Gofio” and
- “Puchero” (stew)

In the bays of Poris de Abona and Abades you can swim and dive in the crystal-clear water of the atlantic ocean. In the ravine of Ortiz steep cliffs invite you to climb. For the lovers of walking we recomend the “Tamadaya” ravine and also the leisure area called “Contador”. Moreover you can walk through approximately 40% of the protected areas.

These are:
- "Montaña Centinela" (small volcano)
- "Tabaibal de Poris" (nature park where the typical “Tabaiba”-bush grows)
- "Parque Natural de Corona Forestal" (large forest area)
- " Parque Natural del Barranco del Rio "(protected area), a large and deep ravine near by El Rio, that goes from Guajara up to the Cañadas.
